MOTO

Description

MOTO or MoTo is the abbreviation for Mobile Order / Telephone Order. Typical use case is the merchant call center where the customer gives the order and payment data via phone.

A merchant offering Mail Order / Telephone Order (MOTO / MoTo) to customers accepts orders by phone or by order forms sent by mail. This service is normally handled within a call center.

MOTO payments are often processed via credit card or direct debit and do not require an additional interaction by the customer.

Credit card payments conducted by MOTO need to be specially flagged because e.g. 3-D Secure is not possible via MOTO and the acquirer / issuer needs to be informed about this.

Some paymethods are not possible via MOTO (e.g., Online Bank Transfers) because the customer is not able to enter their TAN to authenticate the payment.

Additionally we offer Pay By Link where a call center agent can accept the order via phone and sends a payment link to the customer. The customer then will complete the payment on his own – so that payments like 3-D Secure payments, Online Bank Transfers or PayPal are available.
